Gainsborough

Province was approached by the current owners of ‘Gainsborough’ to advise on the renovation, finishing and styling of their treasured property. Task completed this historic home opened it’s doors recently for a local heritage homes tour. We were delighted with the outcome as were the owners and the many visitors on the day.

‘Gainsborough’ was included in the Brisbane National Trust of Queensland’s “Dating your Home Guide” as an example of 1880′s architecture. The hallway features rough sawn timber boards and 1880′s English print dado filling and frieze wallpapers which were at the height of popularity at the time. Now displayed behind glass and representing both the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ the owners evidence their passion in combining provincial, modern and country styling.
